The Succulent Salesman

One of THE MOST important mindsets that you will need to develop in life is the ABUNDANCE mindset. That is, the deep acknowledgement and acceptance of the fact that we live in a world of abundance which exists in an infinite universe, one that has no end, and furthermore offers abundance in every form imaginable. Beyond your widest dreams you might say. Limitless abundance, all just there...for you.

As it relates to us humans here on Earth, you need to start looking at EVERYTHING through an eye of abundance. In every aspect of your life, you need to always remember that abundance exists. As you go through life, the manner at which you approach your jobs, your friends, your lovers, your everything gets handled very differently depending on where your mindset is as it relates to this abundance.

Let's first talk about the polar opposite of abundance...scarcity. That is, the belief that something is rare, hard to come by again, is of a limited quantity, etc. When you start to believe that something is scarce, you begin to act differently toward it. Often times you begin to compromise yourself. Not only is this unnecessary, but it is wrong, and a disservice to yourself when you start to get out of control in the things that you are doing all in the name of your belief that XYZ is scarce. How many times have you put up with bullshit from your job because you thought it was a rare find? How many times have you stood in a crap-tastic relationship because you thought that "blah blah blah" type of partner was hard to come by? How many times have you kept shitty friends in your life because, well friends are hard to come by and it's better to have some friends than no friends? These things right there are all bullshit. None of these things are true. As I said previously, we live in a world of OVERFLOWING ABUNDANCE. No you don't have to settle. There is ALWAYS another job, lover, friend, etc. out there just waiting for you if you could only muster up the courage to grab yourself by the balls and go out and get it. I don't wanna hear your excuses. Whatever they are they don't hold water.

I want to touch on the two things that put us in scarcity. Number one, other people. They try to convince you that "they are the best lover for us" all while they stab you in the back. "This job that I've got for you is a one of a kind and you'll never find one like this again" all while they bend you over the barrel and plug you. "My friendship is highly valuable and you need to just take whatever shit I'm flinging your way to make me feel better." Snake oil salesmen. Nothing more. Watch out for these kind of people. But let's be honest, we all succumb to the charms of these types of people from one time to another. The second thing, and more hazardous in my opinion, that puts us into scarcity, is OURSELVES. You have convinced yourself that something/somebody is scarce. I don't know how we get here sometimes, but same thing...we've all done it. Once you really embrace that notion of scarcity, things really can get dangerous. You'll pretty much sell your soul to the devil to keep XYZ thing in your life that you believe is scarce.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BREAK OUT OF THIS MINDSET. The scarcity mindset. You need to adopt an abundance mindset and develop the ability to leave any situation at any time on a moments notice. You develop this ability when you KNOW that there are other options out there, and no, you don't have to settle for horse shit in your life. You need to embrace, embody, and live this reality in your life. You will feel the power of the Gods when you employ this mindset in your life. This really is the "next level" stuff you'll need to graduate onto if you are to live your life to it's fullest potential. And I sincerely hope that you would desire this...

I want to leave you with an anecdote that has always struck me, almost in a comical light. I really like to grow things at home. I'm fascinated by the way that plants grow. They are a machine that converts light to matter. It's a freaking miracle when you slow your life down and really appreciate it. Anyways, succulents are one of my favorite things to grow. They are some of the most resilient, low maintenance, hard to kill plants that you will ever find. You can literally pluck a single chute or leaf off of a mother plant, and the thing will grow like crazy, even if you barely do anything to it. Literally just drop it on top of soil. Some you don't even have to water. They start to grow roots, bury themselves, then they are off to the races and start producing.

Now when you start to appreciate how many succulents there are out there in the world, and the fact that there is an infinite amount of potential to grow as many more as you want, you'll never look at buying a succulent the same way again. Pure abundance. Sure, ok, there's some convenience factor at play here if you just want to have an off the shelf, ready to go, nice looking plant at your disposal, then fine. Spend your money as you please. But the point here is that that you know how abundant succulents are and how easy they are to cultivate. You don't NEED to buy the succulent. You can choose to buy the succulent if you want, but your mindset is such that you can always grow another succulent. Maybe one that suits you better? Maybe one that you like better? Maybe one that looks better? Maybe one that doesn't treat you like shit? Now consider the job that the succulent salesman has to do here. He's basically got to convince you that his succulents he's selling are rare to the point that you've got to pay him $10.99 to have one of these "extra special rare to the Earth" succulents. No, for me...no. I'll just grow my own...I'm not putting up with the price gouging here. Haha.

Anyways, I hope you see my point here guys. The world is one giant, abundant, succulent garden. Your jobs, friends, lovers, etc. They are all succulents. Some are good, some are bad. But don't forget about that vast garden out there. It will always be there for you. You've just gotta be brave enough to throw away your rotting succulent and go find one of the many other beautiful ones that are growing out there.

And by the way, please don't go clipping your neighbors succulent plants without asking 1st...
