I think there was a point in time where the internet might have actually had some more focused and expert advice on it. Or at least maybe it was easier to sift and navigate your way to the best answers. So much has changed though. The internet is littered with such a range of intelligence these days. Just roll with me here, the message of this article is something more.
So many times, we go to the internet to try and find answers to our questions, expertise to guide us, or whatever under the sun that we are desiring to know. Of course we would, it's so easy. The internet does connect us instantly to billions of other minds in the snap of a finger. Surely there is some good in this. I'm not denying that. But you've got to be careful, right?
Perhaps it's already striking you as ironic that here I am hosting this site packed with life advice, and I'm just another random person on the internet spouting off my personal thoughts and perspectives. So in other words, ANY Tom, Dick, or Harry can come here and post absolutely ANYTHING that they want. It just is what it is, and obviously, it's incumbent upon you to consider where it is exactly that you take your advice from.
But what I would like you to consider is the fact that these days, the internet will tell you whatever the hell you want to hear. You will ALWAYS be able to find perspectives on both sides of the coin, for or against, in favor or in opposition to whatever it is that you are looking for help with. How funny is that, yet we still get on google every single day and ask an infinite variety of questions of it.
Think about this, a lot of times you harbor some sort of pre-loaded bias about your situation. Deep down you are already convinced, and you are just looking for an outside opinion of somebody out there to validate your thoughts. Yeah! That's right! That's what you wanted to hear. Now you can feel better about yourself and proceed with whatever the heck it is you are doing. How strange is that. You can literally go out there and find exactly what it is that you want to hear if you look hard enough.
So the question I pose to you is, why even go to the internet in the 1st place? What are these thoughts and pre-loaded biases that I mentioned earlier? Well, this is your intuition, your instinct, your gut, the pit of your stomach talking to you. Why not learn to listen to it? Learn to trust it? Learn to let it guide you? Maybe there is good reason that you've been designed to operate this way? Think about it, you're probably going to go that way ultimately anyways if what I just told you about the internet is true, which I believe is for most of us.
You're just going to the internet to hear what you wanna hear...admit it.
